Zamalek president, Mortada Mansour, asked the club’s fans to remain calm after their draw against Sagrada Esperança in the Champions League.

Zamalek failed to claim their first win in the CAF Champions League group-stage after being held to two consecutive draws, the latest of which came in the form of 0-0 result against Angola’s Sagrada Esperança.

The Whites sit third with two points, one behind third-placed Wydad Casablanca and two behind Petro Luanda. Meanwhile, Sagrada Esperança languish at the bottom with just one point.

Zamalek have been in a poor run of form as of late, drawing twice in the Champions League and losing against Smouha in the league, since the end of the Africa Cup of Nations.

“To the great Zamalek fans, we will not talk about today’s match or anything related to the football team before the final whistle of the Zamalek and Wydad clash next week,” Mansour wrote on his Facebook page.

“What we need to do now is to stay behind our team and our boys. The repercussions will be postponed, but are coming. Please calm down, because rash decisions at the moment are not a solution and are not in the team’s interest,” he concluded.
