The Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan, and the Libyan Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation Ali Al-Abed Al-Ridha chaired the meeting of the Egyptian-Libyan technical committee in Cairo to coordinate the return of Egyptian workers to Libya to participate in its reconstruction.

This comes within the framework of the signed protocol for the electronic link between the two countries and according to the  memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries.

Saafan stressed that any Egyptian worker wishing to travel to Libya will only take place through the ministry, as it is the only responsible place for this file through the electronic link system between the two sides, which is scheduled to be launched this week.

The Minister of Manpower called on the technical work team from the two ministries responsible for the electronic link file to quickly complete all procedures, and conduct real simulation experiments to receive labor requests in the specialties required from the Libyan side, which facilitates the professional classification of Egyptian workers, and overcomes all the problems and obstacles that can be faced.

The minister stressed that the work of the joint technical committee will be followed up on an almost daily basis to follow up developments and overcome any obstacles that may face the Egyptian and Libyan sides.

It will also provide all means of safety for the electronic link to prevent penetration that could be practiced by outlaws, and the transfer of information and data between the two parties within the framework of a secret and safe operation.

Al-Ridha pointed out that today's meeting is a historic one that crowns the efforts made by both parties in the recent period to facilitate the return of Egyptian workers to participate in the reconstruction of the Libyan state.

The Libyan Minister noted that the features of that stage are characterized by seriousness, professionalism and keenness to launch the new system in the best possible way.

He explained that the goal of the electronic link system is saving time and effort for Libyan companies to bring in the Egyptian workers they need through the ministry, which is the body authorized in this file without intermediaries or brokers, that could cause fraud.

He pointed out that the Employment Department of the Libyan Ministry of Labor has many requests for companies operating on its territories that require thousands of skilled Egyptian workers, awaiting the launching of the electronic link system, in many fields of work, including construction, health and others.
