Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly received his Malaysian counterpart, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, on Saturday at Cairo International Airport. Prime Minister Ibrahim arrived leading a high-level delegation for an official visit to Egypt.
This visit, which was extended at the invitation of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, seeks to enhance the longstanding ties between Cairo and Kuala Lumpur, encompassing various domains such as political, economic, cultural, and religious aspects, as noted by the Egyptian cabinet.
The reception was attended by Ambassador Ragai Nasr, Egypt’s Ambassador to Kuala Lumpur, and Ambassador Mohammad Tared Sofian, Malaysia’s Ambassador to Cairo.
In a statement shared on his official social media platforms, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim remarked that this visit presents a significant opportunity to further Malaysia-Egypt relations and to investigate new possibilities for collaboration.
Ibrahim also mentioned that he would be delivering a public lecture at Al-Azhar University and interacting with Malaysian students studying there, of which approximately 6,500 are currently enrolled.
