Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Anwar Ibrahim has accepted Russian President Vladimir Putin's invitation to participate in the upcoming BRICS Summit in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.
In a post on the social media platform Telegram, the Malaysian Prime Minister stated, "The invitation represents an important step toward Malaysia’s ultimate goal of joining the BRICS Summit," as reported by the Russian news agency TASS on Wednesday.
He added, "During a meeting on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum, I, alongside President Putin, exchanged views on global events. I was pleased to accept his kind invitation for Malaysia to participate in the upcoming BRICS Summit, which will be held in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, from October 22 to 24."
