In a significant corporate backlash, numerous leading advertisers are withdrawing from the 'X' platform following a controversial post by its owner, Elon Musk, which was deemed to endorse an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory.
Musk, in response, has announced plans for a legal battle against 'Media Matters' and others who criticized his social media platform, according to Reuters.
Following Musk's contentious post on 'X,' several major American corporations, including Apple, Disney, Comcast, Lionsgate Entertainment, and Paramount Global, have decided to suspend their advertisements on the platform, as reported by the French Press Agency.
This move came to light following revelations by the non-profit organization 'Media Matters.'
Musk, in a post on 'X,' declared that the moment the courts open on Monday, (X) will launch a lawsuit against and everyone involved in this fraudulent attack on the company.
A spokesperson for Lionsgate Entertainment, a film production and distribution company, stated that they suspended their ads on 'X' due to Musk's recent anti-Semitic tweets.
Additionally, IBM announced on Thursday that it halted its advertisements on the platform following a report about their ads appearing alongside pro-Nazi posts.
The White House and various American media outlets have identified Musk's original post as alluding to an age-old conspiracy theory about a secret Jewish plan to bring irregular immigrants to America to undermine the dominance of the white majority.
