The European Mediterranean Seismological Center said that an earthquake measuring 7.0 struck the Bali Sea region in Indonesia on Monday.
The center added that the quake was 203 km north of Mataram, Indonesia, at a depth of 516 km below the earth's surface.
The US Geological Survey estimated the magnitude of the earthquake to be 7.1.
The US tsunami warning system said there were no tsunami threats as a result of the quake.
There have been no reports of damage or casualties yet, although some accounts on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, have posted videos showing tremors.
"Our teams are conducting assessments as they are still collecting reports from people," the disaster mitigation agency in Bali said in a statement.
In November, a 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck the densely populated West Java province, killing 602 people.
