A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck Colombia, the German Research Center for Geosciences said.

The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles).

In the middle of this month, the US Geological Survey said that a 6.3-magnitude earthquake struck the Colombian capital, Bogota, prompting residents to flee homes, offices, and restaurants.

At that time, the Civil Defense Authority of Colombia announced that the residents of the municipality of Calvario, which is located in the Meta region, southeast of the capital, had been evacuated.

The earthquake and the aftershocks that followed greatly affected the area, with damage to windows and property.
