Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen is set to star in the fifth Indiana Jones film alongside Harrison Ford.
It is not clear who will Mikkelsen be playing in the forthcoming sequel.
His casting news comes after Phoebe Waller-Bridge's announced that she joined the adventure movie earlier this month.
Harrison confirmed in February 2020 that he would be returning to the franchise one final time when he leaked details about the project during an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres' show.
James Mangold will take over directing from Steven Spielberg, who helmed the first four installments.
Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, and Frank Marshallwill serve as producers on the film. John Williams returns to score.
"Indiana Jones 5" is set to hit theaters on July 29, 2022.
The Danish actor will also be seen is also in Warner Bros.' upcoming third Fantastic Beasts movie, playing Gellert Grindelwald after Johnny Depp's exit.
