Egypt’s Pime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has stressed the importance of accelerating the delivery of projects under the first phase of the presidential “Haya Karima” (Decent Life) initiative, in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives, government spokesperson Mohamed El-Homsany said on Monday.
According to Homsany, the government attaches top priority to completing and handing over projects aimed at improving living standards in rural areas, noting that the prime minister is closely following up on implementation progress.
He explained that the first phase of the initiative includes around 27,000 projects across 1,477 villages in 20 governorates, adding that more than 22,000 projects have already been completed.
El-Homsany also noted that a recent cabinet meeting discussed mechanisms to speed up the receipt and operation of completed projects.
"About 16,800 projects have already been officially received, while others are undergoing technical and administrative procedures."
He further mentioned that the second phase of the initiative will cover 1,667 villages through around 14,500 projects in 20 governorates, focusing on key sectors such as sanitation, drinking water, education, and roads.
