On Friday, the Middle East News Agency published an article by Prime Minister Dr Mostafa Madbouly on the occasion of the highly anticipated opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
The article carried a message to Egypt and to the world just days before the opening of the GEM, set for November 1, 2025.
The event is expected to be attended by world leaders, heads of state, and prominent figures, alongside remarkable activities reflecting Egypt’s cultural stature and influence.
The full text of the prime minister's article at MENA is as follows:
As the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum draws near, about a week from now, and with the sunrise of Saturday, November 1, 2025, majestic Egypt opens its arms to welcome visitors, leaders, and dignitaries from around the world through the gates of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
This integrated cultural and civilizational landmark, with its unique view of the Giza Pyramids, stands as Egypt’s gift to the world. It was chosen to see the light on this day in an inauguration that will be another eternal event engraved deeply upon the obelisk of Egypt’s glorious history.
To say that the Grand Egyptian Museum is Egypt’s gift to the world is no exaggeration, for the legacy of ancient Egyptian civilization constitutes a global heritage in accordance with UNESCO’s definitions of cultural and natural world heritage.
It is perhaps a happy coincidence that the publication of this message on the morning of Friday, October 24, 2025, coincides with the opening of the exhibition “Treasures of Pharaonic Civilization” in Rome, Italy, an affirmation that heritage is a shared human legacy, a global treasure, and that its audience is the people of the entire world.
The Grand Egyptian Museum will not simply be a touristic or archaeological destination competing with its counterparts across the globe, though it indeed houses an unparalleled collection of treasures from ancient Egyptian civilization within its magnificent Grand Hall, its distinctive staircase, and its modern exhibition halls.
Rather, it is an edifice that tells the story of the Egyptian state’s determination. Two years after its inauguration will mark the silver jubilee of its foundation stone being laid, making it truly another triumph added to the record of the New Republic, which continues to overcome obstacles, fulfill aspirations, and achieve accomplishments.
As we eagerly await the arrival of delegations, leaders, and guests for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, we look forward to Egypt once again astonishing the world with an event that rivals the splendor of the Pharaohs’ Golden Parade in April 2021 and the reopening of the Avenue of Sphinxes in Luxor in November 2021.
Although the responsibility for organizing the upcoming November 1 event rests with specific entities, every Egyptian citizen is a key contributor to its success, so that our global guests may once again witness the brilliance of Egypt’s eternal civilization.
Welcome to Egypt’s esteemed guests—on its land forever rich with treasures, beneath its sun whose turquoise glow dazzles the eyes.
