On Sunday, Egypt's Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly held a meeting to follow up on plans for the construction of the new city of Ras al-Hikma on the northwestern coast.

Madbouly stated that this meeting comes within the framework of the continuous follow-up of the projects aimed at developing the northwestern coast regions, in an effort to make them more attractive to urbanization and development.

He explained that today's meeting aims to agree on the various steps related to the new city of Ras el-Hikma, within the framework of the state's interest in developing the northern coast, according to planning principles and standards that ensure the optimal exploitation of this region.

At the meeting, Nader Saad, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, mentioned that they reviewed the works related to the infrastructure and facilities in the new city, as well as the proposed plans for land use in it, and the various activities to be established on those lands, in a way that contributes to attracting more local and foreign investments to this promising region.

Saad added that the final borders of the new city have been agreed upon, in a way that contributes to accelerating the pace of implementing the targeted development aspects of that region, while emphasizing the importance of encouraging and attracting the private sector to participate in the city's development.

"It was also agreed to work to strengthen the role of the residents and people of the region in the development processes that are scheduled to include many sectors, and to involve them more in the projects that are being implemented, in addition to working to establish an integrated Bedouin village in the region to raise the living standard of the residents of that area, and improving the level of services provided to them in various sectors,” he continued
