PM Mostafa Madbouly confirmed during the government meeting Wednesday that the government started two days ago to reduce electricity loads, as a result of the severe heat wave, and the significant increase in the consumption of electricity.
"The government started two days ago to reduce electricity loads which was also reflected in the increase in the volume of gas consumption used in electricity production, and severe pressure on its networks, which led to a decrease in gas pressures in the networks connected to power stations."
He explained that with the decrease in these pressures, load mitigation began two days ago, so that the normal pressures of the gas network can be reached, pointing to continuing to reduce loads alternately, until the middle of next week, so that the network regains its gas pressure.
He pointed out that the extreme rise in temperatures caused significant effects on a number of different countries, and stressed: “We are currently in a period of temporary load easing until the network restores normal pressures.”
The Prime Minister stressed the importance of continuing to implement the various measures that would contribute to the rationalization of electricity consumption in general.
