In a significant boost to the textile industry, the Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli announced on Saturday the successful completion of the long-awaited upgrade of spinning and weaving factory complexes across the country.

The modernization initiative, launched three years ago, is part of the government’s broader vision to revitalize the manufacturing sector and bolster the economy.

Speaking at an inaugural event held at one of the upgraded facilities, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of the textile industry in driving economic growth and creating employment opportunities.

"This milestone reflects our commitment to making our textile industry globally competitive. The upgraded factories will enhance productivity, reduce waste, and introduce cutting-edge technology to meet international standards," the Madbouli stated.

The modernization program included the installation of energy-efficient machinery, advanced automation systems, and sustainable waste management practices. The government worked closely with private sector stakeholders and international partners to ensure the adoption of best practices.

The upgrades are expected to increase production capacity by 40%, reduce operational costs by 30%, and generate thousands of new jobs, particularly in rural areas where many of the factories are located. Additionally, the initiative aims to position the country as a leading exporter of high-quality textiles, with an emphasis on eco-friendly production.

Industry leaders and workers alike have welcomed the development. "This upgrade is a game-changer for us," said Amina Khan, a factory manager. "It will not only improve working conditions but also give us the tools to compete on a global scale."

The government has also announced plans to establish a training program for workers to familiarize them with the new technologies, ensuring a seamless transition and long-term sustainability.

The Prime Minister concluded the event by emphasizing the government's commitment to further investments in the manufacturing sector, signaling a bright future for the country’s industrial growth.

This landmark achievement underscores the government's dedication to fostering innovation and sustainability in one of the nation's most critical industries.
