French President Emmanuel Macron has emphasized the critical necessity of establishing a robust and durable ceasefire in Lebanon. According to Macron, the agreement must pave the way for a synchronized process involving the withdrawal of Israeli forces and the immediate deployment of the Lebanese Armed Forces.

Taking to his official account on X (formerly Twitter), the French President revealed that he had held high-level discussions with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and Speaker of Parliament Nabil Berri. During these talks, Macron reaffirmed France’s unwavering commitment to supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"A strong ceasefire, which must be respected by all parties, must allow for a simultaneous process of Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territories and the redeployment of the Lebanese Armed Forces," Macron stated. He added that this step is vital to ensuring that the state retains an exclusive monopoly over the possession of weapons.

Furthermore, President Macron expressed France's readiness to actively support this transition on the ground. He stated that Paris intends to mobilize the international community over the coming weeks, working hand-in-hand with the Lebanese government to provide essential support to the Lebanese Armed Forces and meet the urgent needs of displaced populations.
