French President Emmanuel Macron said that Turkey and the Muslim Brotherhood were using post-colonial hatred on the continent. "Let us not be this naive," Macron said.

"The speakers and video makers in these French media outlets, a large part of which are funded by Turkey and other countries."

Macron referred to Turkey's distortion of his statements about the Prophet Muhammad, saying: “Turkey and the terrorist Brotherhood group, which have a great influence in the countries of Africa, distorted my words when I made the decision to fight terrorism and extremism.” He added, “I do not attack Islam, I attack terrorism, we do not talk to terrorists. We are fighting them."

On Wednesday, Macron received the leaders of the French Council of the Muslim Faith, who in turn, at his request, presented the outlines for the formation of a national council of imams that will be responsible for issuing credit to imams in France and withdrawing it from them when necessary.
