French President Emmanuel Macron is set to visit Lebanon this Friday, according to French media reports citing a statement from the Lebanese presidency.
The Lebanese presidency confirmed that Army Commander and President-elect Joseph Aoun discussed arrangements for Macron’s visit with French Ambassador Hervé Magro.
Support for Lebanon’s New Leadership
The French presidency previously announced that Macron planned to visit Lebanon “in the near future” following a phone call with President-elect Joseph Aoun. During the conversation, Macron congratulated Aoun on his election and expressed France's readiness to assist Lebanon in addressing its challenges.
Focus on Reform and Reconstruction
In a statement, the Élysée Palace emphasized that France will back Aoun’s efforts to form a government capable of uniting Lebanese factions, meeting public demands, implementing necessary reforms, and driving economic recovery.
France also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Lebanon’s stability, security, and sovereignty. Macron expressed his hope for Aoun’s success in achieving these goals and agreed to visit Lebanon soon to reinforce bilateral ties.
