French Amb.: Macron to Visit Egypt for COP27 Climate Summit

On Saturday, Khaled Fouda, the Governor of South Sinai, received Raphael Martin de Lagarde, the Deputy French Ambassador, in Sharm El-Sheikh, to discuss ways to accommodate the French delegations that will participate in the activities of the climate summit.

During the meeting, Fouda reviewed the preparations Sharm El-Sheikh to receive guests and delegations of the climate conference from various countries of the world, and the works that were established in the city from new green outlets such as the central park on an area of 40 acres, raising the efficiency of the Peace Park, establishing the green zone in it, and launching a super internet Speed in all Sharm El Sheikh hotels.

He noted that The Hospital Sharm El-Sheikh has also been transformed into a green hospital as the first environmentally friendly hospital in Africa, and a field hospital has been established in the green area to provide medical service to delegations, and to develop means of transportation, including 140 buses powered by electric power, 120 gas buses, and 150 electric cars, and transferring 800 taxis to work with gas, and the availability of charging stations in all sectors of the city and hotels.

A distinctive uniform was provided for drivers, and reliance on solar energy and other projects, to keep pace with the city, drawing the world's attention to it during this coming period.

The French Deputy Ambassador expressed his happiness to visit Sharm El-Sheikh, pointing out that this is his first visit to the city.

Martin de Lagarde praised the preparations for the climate conference, stressing the French participation in this global event headed by French President Emmanuel Macron, and a number of ministers and important personalities, alternately throughout the days of the conference, to consolidate the distinguished relations between Egypt and France.
