France’s President Emmanuel Macron will receive, on Tuesday, at the Elysée Palace, Italy’s Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, the French presidency announced on Monday.
The French presidency said in a statement that Macron and Meloni will discuss bilateral ties and the implementation of the “Quirinal Treaty” signed in 2021 aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries.
Both leaders will also discuss European issues, and they will use this meeting to prepare for the European Council, which will be held in Brussels on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th of June.
The talks between the French president and the Italian prime minister will also deal with the NATO summit, which will be held in Vilnius, Lithuania, on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 11 and 12.
The Elysée statement also confirmed that their talks will be an opportunity to reaffirm their joint support for Ukraine on all humanitarian, military, and economic levels.
