Macron, other leaders attend Chadian President funeral  

A number of world leaders announced that they will attend the funeral of Chadian President Idriss Deby, which will be held on Friday.

French President Emmanuel Macron, his Guinean counterpart Alpha Conde and a number of other African leaders arrived in Chad, to take part in the funeral, despite warnings from the rebels that foreign leaders should not attend for security reasons.

Chadian President Idriss Deby died on Tuesday of his injuries  in the fighting on the front line following clashes between the army and rebels at the border, hours after the preliminary results of the elections declared that he won a sixth term and won 79 percent of the votes, amid the escalation of violence in the central African country.
