The office of French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed yesterday, Thursday, that an aid conference will be held to support Lebanon on December 2.
Reuters reported that Paris wants the conference to include political representatives at the highest possible level, with the aim of collecting aid for Lebanon, which is struggling to recover from the consequences of the explosion that rocked the capital Beirut last August.
Macron confirmed in a message sent to Lebanese President Michel Aoun on the occasion of Independence Day that France is working to hold a conference to support the Lebanese people.
The French president affirmed in his message that "the multifaceted crisis that Lebanon is going through calls for strong measures to be taken," calling for the early formation of a government of qualified figures that would be reliable and able to implement all these measures.
