French President Emmanuel Macron said on Wednesday that he would return to Lebanon this month to put pressure on the political class, according to Reuters.

Addressing a virtual aid conference, Macron called on Lebanon politicians to form a new government to implement reforms in Lebanon, or "there would be no international aid."

Moreover, the French president noted that a fund managed by the World Bank (WB) will be established to help provide humanitarian aid to Lebanon.

It is worth mentioning that, the conference included political representatives at the highest possible level, with the aim of collecting aid for Lebanon, which is struggling to recover from the consequences of the explosion that rocked the capital Beirut last August.

Macron confirmed in a message sent to Lebanese President Michel Aoun on the occasion of Independence Day that France is working to hold a conference to support the Lebanese people.

The French president affirmed in his message that “the multifaceted crisis that Lebanon is going through calls for strong measures to be taken,” calling for the early formation of a government of qualified figures that would be reliable and able to implement all these measures.
