France’s President Emmanuel Macron arrived Tuesday in Amman, Jordan, according to a correspondent from the French Press Agency.
At 10:30 PM (19:30 GMT), Macron landed in the Jordanian capital after his visit to Israel, where he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the families of French-Israeli victims of the attack.
He also met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the occupied West Bank.
In Amman, Macron is set to discuss the reactivation of the "political process" with King Abdullah II, with the goal of achieving a "two-state solution," involving a Palestinian state and Israel living side by side in peace and security, according to the French presidency.
The Elysee Palace pointed out that Macron would hold meetings with other officials in the region, including Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, although these details have not yet been confirmed.
The French president intends to promote his proposal to form a new "alliance" or expand the existing alliance established in 2014 to combat ISIS in Syria and Iraq, including the fight against Hamas, with the participation of France and Arab states.
