Maait Follows Presidential Directives on "Mayglash Alik"

Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance confirmed a presidential directives to provide all facilities to citizens in a way that contributes to maximizing benefit from the "Mayglash Alik" initiative to support the Egyptian consumer in a manner that helps meet their needs and relieve the burden on the citizens.

This came during a meeting on Thursday between the finance minister, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) Ahmed Samir, and Secretary General of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce Alaa Ezz el Din, as well as trade representatives.

During the meeting, Maait reviewed the executive position of the presidential initiative, directing to overcome any obstacles and facilitate on citizens to benefit from the offers and discounts, which reach 20% on durable and non-durable goods, in addition to an additional 10% for those with ration cards.

The minister also directed the speedy payment of the government's share in supporting the owners of ration cards who benefit from the initiative, stressing that the state aims to move the wheel of the economic development forward for the benefit of citizens, enabling them to provide their basic requirements and help create new job opportunities.

The minister pointed out that the 5 largest companies that achieved sales will be honored through the presidential initiative to support the Egyptian consumer, explaining that the electronic purchase experience through the website specified for the initiative has achieved relative success as it witnessed an increasing turnout from citizens.

The minister said that the initiative's website will be redesigned to be more simplified to help citizens quickly search for goods, while providing a “bar-code” with the specifications of each product to facilitate the process of selection.
