A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck central Peru on Saturday, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 22 kilometers. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
Peru experiences at least 400 felt earthquakes each year due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire, one of the world's most seismically active regions.
