A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck southwestern Pakistan on Friday, shaking the Kohlu district in Balochistan, according to the country's National Seismic Monitoring Centre.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the earthquake occurred at a depth of 35 kilometers. No immediate reports of casualties or property damage were issued.
Balochistan, Pakistan's largest province by area, is located in a seismically active region where the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, making earthquakes relatively frequent.
Several powerful quakes have struck the province in recent decades, including a deadly 7.7-magnitude earthquake in 2013 that killed hundreds of people
