A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck central Taiwan on Sunday, according to the island’s Central Weather Administration.
Officials said the earthquake’s epicenter was located in Puli Township in Nantou County, nearly 33.5 kilometers northeast of the county government headquarters.
The quake occurred at a depth of around 15.5 kilometers beneath the surface.
Authorities reported no immediate casualties or significant damage following the tremor.
Taiwan experiences frequent seismic activity due to its location along the Pacific Ring of Fire, one of the world’s most active earthquake zones.
