Dr. Zahi Hawass, the Egyptian archaeologist said: “The science in ancient Egypt five thousand years ago was the most important thing in the world.” “The father was advising his son to love the book as much as he loves his mother. Thus the geniuses who made the ancient civilization appeared.”

Hawass hopes that Egypt`s youth would implement this advice until modern Egypt is established on their hands.

This came in his speech during the launching activities of the Egyptian Science Month at the Academy of Scientific Research.

The activities started with screening a short film on the Egyptian month of science.

The short video defined Egyptian month of science as a national initiative that aims to increase awareness and interest in science, technology, and innovation, and aims to spread the concept of scientific research to all segments of society.

The activities of this year`s month of science will include a public lecture entitled: "The Secrets of the Pharaohs" by Dr. Hawass.

It will be under the patronage and in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mahmoud Saqr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Dr. Nadia Zachary, former Minister of Scientific Research, and Dr. Ehab Abdel Rahman, Academic President of the American University in Cairo.
