The thesis chose novels portraying the love and revolution dialectic between 1945 and 1970 and the effect the dialectic had on the society like (Nagib Mahfouz’s ElKakera ElGedida and ElSeman w ElKarief, Youssef Edris’ Kessa Hob and ElBaydaa, Ehssan Abd ElKoudoos’ Fi Bitna Ragel, and Latifa ElZayat’s ElBab ElMaftouh.)

The thesis was supervised by Dr. Ahmed Shams Eldin ElHagagy, the Arabic Criticism Professor in Cairo University, and Dr. Tamer Fayz, the Literature Professor in Cairo University. Dr. Ahmed Abd ElAziz, the Andalusian Literature Professor in Cairo University.

Dr. Saied ElWakeel, the Literary Criticism Professor in Ain Shams University led the thesis discussion.

The thesis succeeded in explaining the ideological, informational, and documental functions in each novel of the novels studied.

It concluded that the relation between love and revolution is influential as love leads people to rebel against themselves and against their countries during their search for freedom.

The paper didn’t concentrate on the common love concept between two people but the deeper and meaningful concept of self-love that guarantees people the freedom they’re seeking.
