Al Arabiya reported in a breaking news bulletin that the Louvre Museum has reopened after being closed since Sunday due to a robbery.
France 24 published a statement from the Louvre Museum administration, indicating that the damage caused by the robbery at the Louvre Museum was estimated at approximately 88 million euros.
The Paris prosecutor confirmed on Tuesday that the damage to numerous jewels at the Louvre Museum in Paris, estimated by the museum at 88 million euros, was the result of a spectacular robbery.
The museum's curator estimated the damage at 88 million euros, based solely on the economic aspect, according to Paris prosecutor Laure Picot on Tuesday evening.
The prosecutor told RTL that this amount is "quite astonishing," but it pales in comparison to any historical damage, noting that the criminals would not have been able to recover this amount had they risked melting down these jewels.
