The Camelot Foundation, the organizer of Britain's national lottery competition, announced that a British cardholder had won the grand prize of the "Euro Millions" lottery, worth 195 million pounds.
Tuesday's winning numbers were 6, 23, 27, 40, and 41, with 2 and 12 selected for the "Lucky Star" lucky numbers.
Camelot said it was the most notable win ever recorded by the National Lottery, breaking the previous winning record of £184 million in May this year.
The "Euro Millions" draw is held twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday, and it is held in 13 European countries.
Andy Carter, the Senior Adviser to Winners for the Camelot Foundation, said: "it was a great night for a British cardholder".
"We urge competitors to review their cards and contact us if someone thinks they are the lucky winner tonight," he added.
The total amount won by a person in Tuesday's drawing is 195 million and 707 thousand pounds.
It comes two months after Gloucester's Joe and Jess Thwaite won the 184m Euro Millions raffle for the winning ticket.
Overall, 15 British tickets have won the jackpot, over £100m, in the history of the National Lottery.
In line with similar competitions that offer bigger prizes in the US, such as Powerball and Mega Millions, the Euro Millions of prizes are not tax-exempt, and this also applies to similar prizes in Europe.
In 2016, Powerball presented the largest lottery prize in history so far, with a value of more than 1.586 billion dollars, breaking its previous record of one billion dollars. Three people share the value of the prize for owning the winning card.
The biggest single winner was 2018, with $1.537 billion, but only $878 million after taxes.
