After a four-year hiatus, New Zealand singer Lorde made Thursday her big return with a brand new music video “Solar Power“.
The music video was filmed at the beach and featured the singer in a yellow skirt and top, dancing in the sand as she performed an ode to the warmer months.
It was a surprise launch from the singer, who timed the release to coincide with the solar eclipse in the northern hemisphere that occurred on that day.

“Solar Power“ is written by the New Zealander and produced with Jack Antonoff and is the title track of her upcoming LP.
The music video is helmed by the "Royals" director Joel Kefali.
The new album marks Lorde’s third album, following 2017’s "Melodrama" and 2013’s "Pure Heroine".
She delayed the release of "Solar Power", which was initially set to debut in June 2020 following the sudden death of her pet dog, Pearl, in November 2019.
