The Libyan National Army Spokesman, Ahmed Al-Mismari, said on Wednesday that the LNA "Expects a Turkish attack at any time," stressing that the Libyan forces will "Do whatever is necessary to deter any assault.”

In an interview with "Sky News Arabia", Al-Mismari stated that "We expect the Turkish attack at any hour and at any time… We have done everything necessary to deter any attack on our forces.”

“We have detected that Turkey is going to the decisive battle, which is the battle of Sirte- Jufra,” he added.

Moreover, Al-Mismari revealed that "There are no indications from the other side, in reference to the Government of National Accord based in Tripoli and headed by Fayez al-Sarraj, of accepting the ceasefire and going to negotiations.”

"The armed forces are still committed and the military operations that we are carrying out are defensive operations only to prevent enemy maneuvers and to prevent it from advancing to our positions,” the LNA spokesman stressed.

"We are going towards a peaceful solution and we will declare a cease-fire if all the conditions that have been established are fulfilled. In other words, if the GNA adheres to a ceasefire and vows not to transfer any terrorist to Libya and removes the invaders."

LNA: Erdogan Wants to Seizes Libya's Oil

In a related context, the United Nations Security Council held a virtual meeting on Wednesday to discuss the Libyan developments.

The Libyan National Army spokesman pointed out that "I wish that Secretary-General Antonio Guterres would mention Turkey by name, because it is the one that is fighting, mobilizing and supporting terrorist militias.”

Al-Mismari indicated that “The Turkish goals do not serve Libyan interests and will not serve international peace.”

“Turkey defies the will of the international community and the Libyans,” he noted.

Early, the LNA spokesman said that the militias are trying to implement the Turkish President’s scheme to reach the Oil Crescent Region, adding that “Therefore President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wants to continue the attack, but our forces will deter these ambitions."

"Erdogan's goals are clear, he does not want the land of Libya, but he wants its resources, most importantly the oil and gas,” Al-Mismari affirmed.

He added that "We face Turkey with all its forces and weapons, and we face Qatar as well with its malicious intelligence and money.”

Al-Mismari revealed that the Libyan National Army had strengthened its deployment in an effort to protect Libyan oil installations.
