Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders stated that the Reds star Mohamed Salah's success has a "secret" that helped in his transformation into one of the leading forwards in the world, according to Liverpool Echo.

"He is a gifted finisher, his imagination and intuition in these moments are brilliant," Lijnders said.

"The way he can keep the ball in the hardest situations and find a way to come out and score is what identifies him,"

"Many players have this, but not many have this consistently. Then you are part of the world's best. It's all about the mentality to 'never give less'," he added.

"But for me, bigger than the achievement of the goals is his everyday presence in our club. His character is special, he is a true example. There is no bigger compliment in life. The best ones stay humble, the best ones are true examples,"

"Mo invests a lot of time in his preparations; he treats his body well and we have seen him grow as a professional. His ambitions are high but his attitude in training is higher. If there is one secret in life, that would be the one."

On top of all this, Lijnders pointed to Salah's overall contribution, as he has provided 40 assists during his Anfield career.

"He is so much more than a 'striker' for us," he added, speaking to the official Liverpool match-day programme.

"Our game stimulates this development and forces this way because everyone is responsible for everything. He becomes more and more a 'play-maker' as well.

"But the most valuable characteristics of stars is that they know what the team is and what makes us all reach these highs," he concluded.

Since he arrived at Anfield in the summer of 2017, Salah has accumulated a host of landmarks and honours until today.

The Egyptian professional has led his team to winning the Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup, along with claiming the PFA Player of the Year award in 2018 and two Golden Boots.

Mo has scored 104 goals in 168 games.
