LinkedIn’s chief executive officer (CEO) Jeff Weiner said on Wednesday that he will step down from his position as of June 1.
Weiner said on his LinkedIn profile that CEO of Microsoft Corp's LinkedIn Head of product Ryan Roslansky will take over his position.
Ryan will report directly to Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella and serve as a member of his senior leadership team.
In 2016, Microsoft bought LinkedIn, which has more than 675 million members.
Microsoft’s productivity and business process unit, which includes LinkedIn, reported $11.8 billion in revenue in the second quarter.
The multinational technology company share price dropped 0.12% to 179.90 at the end of today's trading.
It is noteworthy that Weiner has been the CEO of the networking platform since 2008.
