British-American actress Lily Collins is set to star and produce a live-action movie about Polly Pocket.
The movie is written and directed by Lena Dunham and revolves around a young girl and a pocket-sized woman forming a friendship.
Mattel Films, the movie pision of the toy company, is working with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) on the project, as well as with Lena Dunham’s production company Good Thing Going.
Robbie Brenner and Kevin McKeon will oversee the project for Mattel Films, while Sandino Moya-Smith and Winnie Carrillo will oversee for MGM and Good Thing Going’s Liz Watson and Michael P. Cohen serving as executive producers.
The movie will join a long and distinguished toys-to-movies list that includes the “Transformers” and “The Lego Movie”.
Pocket has inspired playsets, dolls, web series, and television shows since her first appearance in the late 1980s.
Moreover, Mattel has several projects in development including movies based on its "Barbie", "Barney", "Hot Wheels", and "American Girl" toys.
