During a meeting with Libyan Tribes Sheikhs and Notable Figures, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed that the red lines announced earlier by him at Sidi Barani base are essentially a call for peace and an end to the conflict in Libya.

"Egypt will not stand idle in the face of any movements that directly threaten the national security of Egypt, Libya, Arab world, the region and the world," Sisi said on Thursday.

The delegation of Libyan tribes loyal to eastern forces arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss developments in the war-torn country, a few days after the eastern-based Libyan parliament asked Egypt to directly intervene if necessary in light of what it described as a Turkish “aggression.”

According to the state-run MENA news agency, Cairo received a delegation from several tribes from Benghazi for talks about the current crisis and how to overcome it.
