Libyan Officials Request 2nd Round of Negotiations in Cairo

The Libyan members of Parliament and the State Council, who participated in Cairo meetings on Tuesday, expressed their desire to hold a second round of negotiations in the Egyptian capital to complete discussions on the constitutional arrangements.

The Libyan members of Parliament and the State Council stressed the need for continued discussions on ending the transitional phase and starting the permanent phase arrangements.

During the three-day meetings under the auspices of the United Nations, the Libyan officials expressed their desire to hold a second round of negotiations in Cairo, to complete the constructive discussions on constitutional arrangements as the Libyan parliament should conduct a societal dialogue to reach constitutional agreements that allow the country to move forward on the constitutional path.

Noteworthy, there are disagreements on the Libyan constitutional arrangements while the Libyan officials are working on reaching constitutional agreements.
