Her car reportedly remained running for some time after the shooting.
A witness featured in a video said that Khansa attempted to exit the car and flee when the gunfire began, but the bullets struck her.
The motive behind the killing and the identity of the perpetrators remain unknown in the early hours following the incident.
Khansa was widely known among Libyan audiences, particularly women, for her work in fashion and beauty content creation.
She also managed a clothing business and a beauty salon.
She is the wife of Muadh Al-Manfoukh, a Zawiya leader and former member of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.
The National Human Rights Committee in Libya stated that preliminary information suggests the attack may have been targeting her husband.
The organization noted that Muadh Al-Manfoukh was usually the one driving the vehicle, and that initial indicators point to the involvement of lawless elements allegedly linked to the General Security Apparatus and certain security checkpoints affiliated with the Ministry of Interior in the Government of National Unity.
The committee called for a comprehensive investigation to identify and prosecute the perpetrators.
For his part, Interior Minister Imad Al-Trabelsi ordered an urgent investigation into the assassination, forming a specialized team from security and criminal agencies.
He instructed the use of all available resources to collect evidence and track down those responsible so they can be brought to justice.
