The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced the lifting of force majeure on the port of Zueitina. This is after conducting a security assessment of the facility, over the past two days.

A statement by NOC showed that the evaluation indicated there is a significant improvement in the security situation. This will allow the NOC to lift force majeure on oil ports to resume production and export to global markets.

Notably, Zueitina company is the main feeder of cooking gas. It is also an important source for the coastline system, which enables the rest of the operators to feed the stations of North Benghazi and Zueitina with gas fuel. This will help alleviate the suffering of the people in Benghazi and provide a regular and clean gas supply.

The ports of Hariga, Brega, and Zueitina have now been classified as safe ports. The remaining oil fields and ports are being evaluated according to the NOC’s occupational safety and security standards.
