Libyan National Army (LNA) commander, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar announced his candidacy for the country's presidential elections, due to be held next month.
"I am running for elections to lead the people at a crucial stage," Haftar said in a televised statement, after submitting his papers officially to the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) in Benghazi.
“I promise you to defend our well-established national principles, foremost of which are Libya’s unity, sovereignty, and independence," LNA Commander added.
Moreover, he stressed that Libya enjoys treasures and capabilities that, if placed in safe hands, will change the country's future.
