The Libyan army forces ended, Thursday, a tribal conflict in the eastern city of Tobruk, which left 4 people dead and 20 injured, according to Al-Ain.

Bloody clashes erupted yesterday evening, between members of Al- Qahtan and Al-Ubaid tribes in a dispute over the management of the city's Social Security Office by one of the members of the two tribes.

This conflict resulted in the bombing of the Social Security offices and the court in the Compote region and the city of Tobruk, as they used  grenades, killing 4 and wounding about 20 others.

The Libyan armed forces were able to restore security to the region, evacuating the official headquarters, and handing them over to the army.

The commander of Tobruk military region, Major General Salem Al-Rafadi, took over the security headquarters, along with some tribal elders in the region.

The army and police forces were able to eliminate terrorist groups in the east of the country, establishing security and stability , following the launching of "Operation Dignity" in 2014; however, tribal conflicts arise from time to time and are quickly dealt with.

The army plays a major social role in the reconciliation between the warring Libyan tribes throughout the country, especially the south, in addition to the security roles and support for stability in the country.
