London, UK – Ambrey, a British maritime security company, confirmed that a Liberian-flagged container ship suffered damage from an "aerial attack" approximately 50 miles north of Yemen's Mocha Port, as reported in a breaking news update by Cairo News Channel.

The company stated that the vessel was navigating south through the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait when it was struck by a projectile. The impact resulted in one of the containers falling overboard and sparked a fire on the ship's deck.

This incident highlights the ongoing risks in one of the world's key maritime routes, underscoring the precarious security situation in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

It also raises concerns about the safety of commercial vessels traversing this strategic corridor, which connects the Mediterranean Sea through the Suez Canal to the Indian Ocean.

The attack on the Liberian-flagged ship near the Yemeni coast is the latest in a series of maritime security incidents in the region, drawing international attention to the necessity for enhanced maritime security and vigilance.

The incident's proximity to the war-torn country of Yemen, where a complex conflict has been ongoing for several years, adds to the geopolitical significance of the event and the need for international cooperation in ensuring safe maritime passage.

Ambrey's confirmation of the attack and the details of the incident are being closely monitored by maritime authorities and international organizations concerned with maritime safety and security.
