The former One Direction singer Liam Payne announced his partnership with the UNICEF’s Voices of Youth campaign for the World Children’s Day yesterday, November 16th on his official Instagram account @liampayne.
Payne posted a snippet video from his interview with Areej, an inspiring teenage girl from Yemen with the caption ‘#WorldChildrensDay I am so proud to be part of @voicesofyouth with @unicef_uk for #WorldChildrensDay.’
During the interview, Payne discussed many of the challenges and hardships faced by young people and especially young girls in Yemen with 13-year-old Areej. The challenges include access to education, early marriage, and the coronavirus pandemic.
The 27-year-old singer expressed how he found Areej’s wish for the future- every child, everywhere can fulfill their dreams and potential inspirational.
"I am honored to be able to share it on my platform," he stated regarding his interview with Areej.
It is noteworthy that Payne is set to perform in the UNICEF children benefit “Change Maker” on Tuesday, December 1st along with P!nk, Sofia Carson, and Katy Perry.
The “Change Maker” benefit is an exclusive virtual one-night-only fundraiser to empower the world’s children.
