LG Electronics is accelerating its push into the home robotics market through strategic partnerships with global artificial intelligence leaders including Google and Nvidia, the company’s chief executive said Monday.

In a LinkedIn post, LG Electronics CEO Lyu Jae-cheol outlined the company’s ambition to develop advanced robots designed specifically for household environments, describing the home as “the ultimate unstructured environment” compared with controlled industrial settings.

He noted that everyday household situations, such as objects left on the floor, children moving unpredictably, and the constantly shifting dynamics of family life, expose the limitations of robots that lack true contextual awareness and adaptive intelligence.

Lyu emphasized that LG’s 70 years of experience in home appliance development has enabled the company to accumulate extensive “life data,” giving it deep insights into real-world household environments.

Earlier this year, the South Korean technology giant unveiled its CLOiD home robot, which the company says will play a central role in advancing its vision of a “Zero Labor Home” in the era of artificial intelligence.

To strengthen its robotics capabilities, LG is collaborating with Google to integrate the Gemini AI model in order to enhance contextual understanding in home robots. The company is also working with Nvidia, using its Isaac robotics development platform to train and simulate robots in digital twin environments.

According to Lyu, LG aims to create intelligent robots that function as “conductors of space,” coordinating and managing the entire home environment through advanced AI-driven automation.
