Guyanese-British actress Letitia Wright was injured Wednesday while filming on the Boston set of "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", the sequel to the 2018 hit movie “Black Panther”.
“Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon,” a spokesperson for Marvel said Wednesday.
The incident will not have an impact on the shooting schedule.
Wright is reprising her role as Shuri, a Wakandan princess and accomplished inventor, in the sequel to the 2018 hit which starred the late Chadwick Boseman in the titular role.
She also appeared in the MCU movies “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.”

The first part of “Black Panther” was a cultural sensation when it was released in February 2018. It shattered the pernicious Hollywood myth that movies with a predominantly Black cast could not be commercially viable internationally.
The movie was a massive global hit at the box office, earning $700.4 million domestic, the highest-grossing movie at the domestic box office, and $1.34 billion worldwide, second only to Avengers: Infinity War ($2.04 billion) that year.
Production on “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” directed by Ryan Coogler, began in June 2021.
The sequel also features see the return of Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba, and Angela Bassett.
“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is set to debut on July 8, 2022.
