Lenovo Unveils 1st Fedora ThinkPad Laptop

Lenovo started selling a Fedora variant of its ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 laptop. The 14-inch notebook is thin, light, and gorgeous. The laptop can be configured with a 10th Generation Intel Core i5-10210U, i5-10310U, i7-10510U, or i7-10610U.

The new X1 Carbon runs Fedora Workstation 32. This cutting-edge Linux distribution uses the Linux Kernel 5.6. It includes WireGuard virtual private network (VPN) support and USB4 support. This Fedora version uses the new GNOME 3.36 for its default desktop.

According to Lenovo firm , the storage is an NVMe SSD, with capacities of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. There are three 14-inch displays from which to choose -- two of which are 1080p and 400 nits brightness, but one is a touch screen and the other isn't. There is also the option of a WQHD display, but is not touch and only reaches 300 nits.
