The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, Ambassador Bassam Rady, said that the donor conference was held to secure aid for Lebanon from her main international partners and to coordinate the dispatch of emergency aid with the international community to deal with the effects of Beirut Port Explosion.

During his speech, the president expressed his profound appreciation to French President Macron for hosting this important conference, calling on the international community to spare no efforts to help Lebanon recover.

President Sisi also indicated that Egypt began to dispatch military planes loaded with emergency aid and medical supplies to the Lebanese brothers after the Aug. 4 explosion Beirut Port.

In this context, Sisi also called on them to focus on strengthening the Lebanese national institutions and meet the aspirations of the Lebanese people by implementing inevitable economic reforms that cannot be postponed.

“Thereby, Lebanon would gain the trust of international financial institutions and international support, which will positively affect Lebanon's efforts towards achieving stability, development, and prosperity,” Sisi added.
