President Abdel Fattah El Sisi participated today, Wednesday, via video conference, in the third International Conference in Support of the Lebanese People, organized by France and the United Nations, with the participation of a group of heads of state and government.

"The conference was held with the aim of following up and completing the joint international efforts in order to help the brotherly Lebanese people overcome all the challenges they are facing," said Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.

During his speech, Sisi sent a message to the brotherly Lebanese people that Lebanon, which has always been a beacon of culture, art and thought, and an important tributary of Arab creativity, is still capable of its sons’ determination to rise from the current setback, and return again to be prosperous and unique as we like to see it.

He stressed Egypt's hands are extended to the international community to join hands and harness all our capabilities to support Lebanon and build a better future for its people.

Sisi also pointed out to the efforts made by Egypt since the Beirut port accident last year, in order to provide strategic goods and support for the infrastructure of the Lebanese state to rehabilitate the buildings damaged by the explosion.

The Egyptian president also affirmed that the economic crisis in Lebanon is closely related to the political crisis that has been going on since 2019, and which is getting more and more complex day by day in light of the continuing crisis of the government vacuum that prevents the achievement of the aspirations of the brotherly Lebanese people.

Sisi also thanked French President Emmanuel Macron and United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for calling for this important conference, expressing Egypt's aspiration to contribute to alleviating the pressures that burdened the brotherly Lebanese people.
