The Lebanese army announced on Monday that one of its soldiers was injured following an Israeli airstrike targeting a bulldozer operated by the Lebanese military in southern Lebanon.
In a statement reported by Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), the Lebanese Army Command condemned the attack, stating that the Israeli occupation forces targeted the bulldozer while it was working to clear a road between Qalouweih and Kfar Dounine in the south, resulting in the injury of one soldier.
The statement labeled the attack as part of the continuous Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
The NNA also reported intensified activity by Israeli drones over the skies of Beirut and its southern suburbs, flying at low altitudes. Meanwhile, several Israeli airstrikes targeted the city of Tyre, along with towns in southern Lebanon, including Jibbat al-Batm, Arabsalim, and Halaniya in the Baalbek district.
The agency further noted that an Israeli drone targeted the town of Bafliyeh in the Tyre district during the funeral of a martyr.
In response, Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement announced that it launched rockets at an Israeli military gathering in the al-Omra area, west of Wazzani. Hezbollah described the attack as an act of support for the steadfast Palestinian people in Gaza and in defense of Lebanon and its people.
