Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati has called on the international community to take immediate action to stop Israel's ongoing destructive military operations against Lebanon. Speaking during an emergency government session on Saturday evening, Mikati stressed the government's efforts to combat the devastating war waged by Israel.
"The government is doing everything within its power to confront the destructive war Israel is launching against us. We have approached the United Nations to seek a resolution, but the enemy continues with deceitful intentions, planning further massacres," Mikati stated.
He pointed to recent attacks in the southern suburbs of Beirut and other areas as evidence of Israel’s premeditated objectives. "What happened yesterday and continues today in the southern suburbs of Beirut and other regions is clear proof of Israel’s underlying goals. Despite this, we reaffirm our commitment to international legitimacy and international law. We renew our call for an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression and the implementation of UN Resolution 1701 and all relevant international resolutions," Mikati added.
The Lebanese government’s stance comes amid escalating tensions and increasing calls for international intervention to prevent further bloodshed.
